Artist Statement
All of my work reflects my love of the ocean and the sea creatures that live nearby. I grew up in a beach house in Portuguese Bend. My mother worked and my father took off sailing, leaving the three of us to our own devices.

I happily spent my days either body surfing or exploring the tide pools at the local beach. When the grunion were running, you could count on all of us being down there with our buckets. It was an idyllic, if somewhat unstructured, childhood.

From these times I developed a keen love of nature. My artwork reflects this passion and I am happy with a piece when it looks like it just crawled out of the ocean.

Lately, the addition of natural stone beads has brought the jewelry a new intensity. I love the energy of the earth-stones surrounding the ocean-inspired metal work.
